SOS for LWY

My ex-colleague LWY always tell me that he is not able to leave comments on my blog. He has no problem previously but for the past 6 months, he was not able to leave comments. I have tried myself and no problem and my other friends also have no problem except him, So weirds.

I went to google to search and there are people with the same problem as you,LWY :P Seems like blogger also do not know how to retify, weirds. If anyone of you knows how he can leave comments on my blog again, do let me know, thanks!!

I always find that he kinda look like the Taiwanese ABC singer-Pan Wei Bo,lol. (Esp in this 国中shot which I saw from the internet :P)

Have been pretty busy with work and the house stuff. We are getting the keys soon!!! :)

21st Feb 08-元宵节

The lion dance troupe came to our office.

After work, it was off to 明香 for dinner with K and family. Tried out the new M-Park at Club Street. Heard from K Japan has implemeted this system years ago while Singapore just started this scheme this year.

Plus point is we do not need to park ourselves, good for people like me who sucks at parking. Minus point is the waiting time-maybe it is a new system and people are unfamiliar with the procedure.

After dinner, we walked across to Telok Ayer Street to show K where VC is. Telok Ayer Street was closed on that day for some 元宵 event organised by the 福建会馆.
They were having this mass wedding ceremony.
We went to VC and spoke to GL and XP. Managed to meet up with the designer as well. Quite a nice lady from Taiwan.

Wii Wii

We were at Steph's place last Sat for gathering and lo hei (again). The entire gang was there minus IZ.

It was great fun catching up, viewing her new place, talking crap and playing mj. She is due soon!!

Played Wii for the first time and I was hooked! I want to get it for my new place!! Its so interactive and fun. We laughed till we cried at the swimming, 100m dash, tennis game etc. The Japanese are so smart to come up with this gadget.

Played mj and I emerged biggest winner :)

We ended off with supper at Geylang and this Sat, Harvey is giving all of us a treat to celebrate his completion of his PHD studies..a long awaited treat man........

Wedding Gowns Selection

I took OFF last Friday and went to VC with my mum, mar and pz to look at their gowns. I know many people will go to many bridal shops to look at the gowns first before they choose their bridal package but I am the opposite. lol.

The staff thought pz was the bride at first :P



Tried on so many gowns and spent 3 hours plus, my gosh. Poor pz was starving. The shop do not allow me to take pictures :( but I have my hp.......


Most of the gowns were the bustier type which I do not really like. The bridal staff says most Singaporeans brides prefer the bustier hence they have more of these designs. Saw some other people trying on their gowns there too. Quite funny to see the gowns they chose :P

Anyway, did not see one which I really really like. KIVed some and will go back again to see if there are others to choose as well as go though the evening wear selection, tiring man.

Lights, camera and action..........

Today, we had filming in the office again. This time, it was for our own international student recruitment commerical. The previous time was when Fann and gang came to use our premise for location shooting over at TP.

I was arrowed to sit at the counter and suppose to be giving consultation to a student. I was so not dressed for the occasion man. We were actually chit chatting when the camera was rolling. He also said that he was arrowed to come as he had no class this morning, lol. Halfway through, the crew ask me not to shake my leg,damn it. If I was a mega star, I would kick up a fuss and storm off. ^__^

Chinese New Year 2008

初一 was spent at my late grandma's house. We gathered there for our annual visit as well as dinner. My aunt cooked so much food for us, yums.

After that, my cousins and more aunts came over to our place to 拜年. We had lo hei again.

A bit about lo hei:
Yusheng was invented 1,500 years ago during the Song Dynasty to celebrate the “Birthday of Man” on the seventh day of the New Year. However, the kind of Yu Sheng that we feast on during the Lunar New Year now, is only invented in 1964 by Mr. Tham Yew Kai, the head chef then at Lai Wah Restaurant. Together with Lau Yoke Pui, Hooi Kok Wai and Sin Leong, Mr. Tham Yew Kai was named as one of the Four Heavenly Culinary Kings of Singapore some 40 years ago for their Cantonese culinary prowess and ingenuity.

Instead of using just raw slices of fish to create Yu Sheng, Mr. Tham combined the raw slices of the fish with a mélange of ingredients, including shredded carrots, turnips, ginger and jellyfish. He also created the Yu Sheng sauce through mixing plum sauce, salt and pepper. Due to the auspicious symbol associated with tossing the Yu Sheng (if you toss the Yu Sheng high enough, you’ll be able to have better luck in the New Year), Yu Sheng slowly gained popularity and other restaurants and eateries in Singapore and Hong Kong began to serve this dish.

初二 today-going Kiat's place later. Duno if my aunty coming down for mj or not hmm......

Joey's wedding,2nd Feb 08

Last Sat's evening was spent at Joey's wedding which was held at the Mandarin Oriental-Oriental ballroom.

The 4 of us used to hang out a lot during our JC days and now one by one, all of us are getting married. JY is mum to lovely Vera as well.

The wedding was good fun-the ballroom was nicely decorated with 2 grand chandeliers,the food was delicious, the service hands up, the songs selected were unlike the usual love songs that we hear so often at weddings, the chinese emcee was so experience and articulate,I suspect she was a dj,lol, the groom sang wong lee hom's forever love and learned to play it on keyboard, so touching huh :P Heard from XM their bridal car is a jaguar with the carplate 22-to represent 2nd Feb.

It was fun catching up with XM and JY and of coz the bride herself. See you all soon......

A day @ Balestier

We went to Balestier yesterday to check out some tiles and lightings. Have not been there for ages, in fact I can't even remember when was the last time I was at that area.



Had lunch at 黎记 chicken rice. Supposed to be quite famous but the chicken rice is not fantastic at all. 天天 and the one we always eat at Tanjong Katong Road is so much better.



Balestier has many lightings shop.



Look at the number of chandaliers.

We had to walk to the end of Balestier Road to see the tiles shops. Walked and walked but did not see any. I know that it was near the famous tau sar piah shop. Anyway, we wanted to buy some back as well so we continued walking on. (I was more keen on getting the tau sar piah then see the tiles lol). Finally, we reached Loong Huat coffeeshop-where the stall is located. My mum's friend used to run a mixed rice stall here as well.

The aunties were making the tau sar piah behind. All were fresh from the oven, yums.

We bought 5 sweet and 5 salted ones. Took a break to rest our legs before continuing our research again.

That's the boss, saw his pictures taken with many celebs on the wall.

After our break, we went to see more lights and still no tiles in sight. Saw the one G told us but the shop was under renovation. The shop-Soon Bee Huat actually has another showroom at Tanjong Katong-it is so near to Kiat's place as we will pass by the shop everytime we exit from ECP. Since we thought we were going to Balestier, we will check out the outlet but who knows it is under renovation.

Saw a couple of lights that suited our theme, will KIV till further notice.

大扫除

今天拿了半天假去大扫除. 刚才还下了个清湓大雨.

总算是打扫得七七八八.过一下就要去vivo meet mar 看电影-27 dresses!
