Sat events

Went to see Baby Ryan on Sat with WQ. Good to see both mummy and baby doing fine.

Supposed to meet with a contractor/ID guy at 5pm but I was not feeling too well so Mr Kiat went alone and I zzzz the whole afternoon away. Went to the contractor's place for dinner lol, he also run a Vietnamese eatery at Grandlink which was just a stone's throw away from Kiat's place, so we still got to meet up to say hi in the end.

After dinner, I was well enough to proceed to Zouk. Have not been to Zouk for ages and because YH/HB had an event there, we all went there to show some support :P

The whole gang was there(pz gotta leave early to feed rabitto)

I still like Zouk for their mambo nights only, other than Wed, it is a no-no for me, if not for the company we had, I think we will be bored to tears.

2nd appt with ID

Went to IMM (again) to meet up with AM for our 2nd meeting. He redid some quotes for us.

Their office-nice place but freaking cold. The whole of IMM is like a freezer, it is so freaking cold.People are talking about global warming all over the world and yet they are blasting the aircon like nobody's business.

We spent another 2 hours there. I think we (rather Kiat) has decided to engage his services very shortly. He (we) feels that his design is creative and he is very pro. For me, the plus point is that he has a great dress sense haha. Seldom see 'straight' guys who dresses so well, lol....hmmm......

What's up...?

Nothing exciting to be honest.
It's been mainly work, work, preview, work and reno stuff for this week.
Was at RP on Thu for an event. Very new campus. Students nowadays are so lucky.

Took some pictures of the Singapore Flyer-it will be fully operational in Mar 08.

1st post for the wedding prep

I have been wanting to sit down to write about this post for the longest time but am so lazy to do so :P

Have written a couple of posts on the house which is a pretty good start I should think, by my standard. Now, its time for more.

After the proposal, ring and all in Dec 07, we have got down to discuss on the details like wedding date, banquet etc. We were still deciding if we should go with the dinner or not as there are so much logistics involved (to me lah). It is def more for the parents-my mum and his dad wants, no choice. Like my brother say, it is all but a show for that one day :P So in the end, we have decided to have a dinner after all.

Next come the date, I am fine with ANY date as long as the venue is available, preferably a weekend. But they(parents) say cannot, must find a good day, blah blah. :(

I was given the task to search for the dinner and the bridal studio. Being the procrastinator me, I did not do much research except surf some of the forum sites and I conveniently got much needed information from my friends who have been there done that as well as my colleague who is also planning her wedding soon. Talk about those forums, I really have no interest in the things they say. Some are pretty helpful I must say but I find most are just plain bo liaos. They can ask questions like : Which credit card is best to swipe for the banquet? I literally rolled my eyes when I saw that topic. I also came across this girl who is selling away her outdated bridal magazines for $2.50. I was like for god's sake, give it to the garung guni man lah. I would gladly move on to TRIPADVISOR anytime man.

Back to the dates, I went on to compare some of the information the hotels have to offer. My brother came in and asked my why I did not consider TLG as he is working there. He said that CC is not bad and I should check it out, so I send an email and got a prompt response from the guy in charge. He gave me a list of dates that were still available for 2008 and I happily went to show my mum. She was like this day cannot, not good for snake(Kiat) to marry, the other date not good for wedding events. Angry! Kiat's parents also went to this pretty famous fortune teller guy(but I have not heard of him before lol) and got a list of dates out for us. Being 'good children', we eventually follow their advice and went for venue which had those dates available.

To cut the story short, we went down to CC to speak with the guy and saw the venue and all, not bad. Kiat made me arrange to see another venue as we were already near the area. Ok, so we went to TP but it was a no no for us. After seeing the 2 venues, we decided on CC. Fast decision yah :)

Suppose to pay the deposit but saw that TLG had a wedding fair at Bugis last Friday, so decided to hold until the fair. This was when the coordinator showed me his true colours. He refuse to let me pay the deposit first while enjoying the perks for the fair which was only 5 days later, he die die say they are not confirm going for the fair. Please, in my heart I was like who are you trying to kid? Never mind, so I waited 5 days later and got the promo deal at the fair. Really cannot stand the way he bluff me about the fair and saying stuff like if I do not pay the deposit, the date is quite popular and may go to other people, watever.

As luck has it, we managed to get the date we want plus the promo at the fair last Friday. My brother went down with us and got some perks for us too, thanks bro! Was being plastic with the guy and let Kiat do all the serious talking to him (make me piss off again and I will send his boss a complain letter straight after the banquet lol.)

At the fair, I also saw VC-a bridal studio co owned by XH's friend who is the photographer. Met him at her Rom and he also did her actual day photography. He kinda rem me also and took out loads of albums and pictures of gowns to show us. Spoke with him for an hour plus before we went back to TLG to pay the deposit. As usual, their sales person would like you to sign up with them at the fair, told him I must consider carefully (as his was the 1st studio I ever sat down to see a package.) He later gave us a deal that was too good to resist haha. Told him we will come back no matter what. He was not pushy at all which was what we liked about his style. We went to another shop to compare the rates and decide to just go back to sign up with VC. Can't believe we settled the dinner and package all in one day and both are the 1st ones we went to see. That's how chop we are.

Some bridal cars on display

That's all for now....

LAV

Sat night was spent at CJ's place for their "Like a virgin' theme party. (The last theme party we had was Flower Power 2 years back). Of coz, we had plenty of comments regarding the theme. :P

Everyone turned out in white except for 2 guests I think. There were so many people there,we had to raise our voices to speak and mer nearly ended up with a sore throat, lol. We had loads of wine, beer, champagne, appetizers and snacks. Fun fun fun......

New Year's Eve

As per my previous post, we met up for the countdown to 2008 later on in the night. We met at EL's place to 'warm up' first. We were joined by PL,Val and MK.

Took a cab to Clarke Quay which was in actual fact just around the corner and the taxi uncle can go and take another route, ended up in a horrific jam and the fare cost $12. FAINTS$%#$#%

When we reached around 11pm, the place was packed with people. I have never seen Clarke Quay so crowded before. We went to Chinaone and was met with a bimbo cashier/door bitch who ended letting us in without paying the entrance, lol.

Does Mar look like a jap schoolgirl? Pz says she looks like the one that always appear in those jap ghost movies hehe

Seconds before the countdown, the AM uncle opposite us gave us loads of party poppers, lightsticks, hats to usher in 2008, so nice!!!!
May 2008 be a great year for all of us!
