It's the long weekend for me again..

Well, I haven't been blogging as often as I would have preferred. Nothing interesting in my life so far.

Work has been increasingly busy again, which is good for us. Today, I had a record number of appointments in my tenure at my current company. I am not complaining :)

There was a certain lull period sometime back when we were so free everyday, something we did not experience before. We could even go watch a movie and come back to office without missing anything. But of course, we did not do that.

I met Mar on Monday night, (yes, I went out after work on a Monday night, Kiat and her were so shocked I would go out on a Monday night) as her German friends were in SIN and we met them for dinner at Waraku,Central, before bringing them to Orhard to see the Christmas lights. It was also my first time seeing the Christmas light up this year. Christmas is coming!!! How time flies!

I am on leave tomorrow, although I do not think it is a good idea to take leave due to some work datelines haha, but oh well, since I have to clear leave, I shall just enjoy the long weekend.Sat will be spent at IMM while Sun is the Stan Chart Marathon.

Aftermath of the deal

Continuing from where I left off, I have slowly informed my circle of friends and family (my mum is the one, in fact) that I have finally bought a place to call my own.

In return, I have received many many well wishes from all of them!! Be it through msg left on my blog,emails, smses, calls :) Thank you to each and everyone of you for your kind thoughts and wishes!!!!

I have slowly got into the process of getting things done for THE HOUSE (after procrastinating for a week now, I am such a nua person)-the very first is to settle the loan issue. Actually, Mr Kiat is already into full gear from Day 1. I only got into the momentum like yesterday?!? LOL..(So yesterday, I changed the banker as I do not think she is very good)

He already have so many ideas on the reno and so forth while I have zero input. Yes, zero. I only know how to reject his ideas if I think it is not good or feasible. I sound so mean right, haha. Ok, so I will start to pour over all the deco magazines which Jinny lent to us this weekend and come up with some cool ideas for THE HOUSE :)

Baby Caden's 1st month celebration

Daph, Kiat and me went to Jinny's place for Caden's 1st month celebration yesterday :)

We only reached there around 4plus as I had sicko preview on Sat and Daph gotta work as well.

Prawns...plenty of them

This is just a random post for me to put up the below picture sent by Kiat. On Deepavali's eve, he went prawning with the gang while I had steamboat buffet with my colleagues. This time round, it was at Pasir Ris. They caught a lot of prawns on that day!

MH brought them to this zi cha place where the owner cooked the prawns for them while they ordered other dishes from him. Good lobang!



Doesn't the prawns look delicious??!!!!?? (Cholesterol level will go to a new high too :P)

Cupcakes for Birthday

Last Friday was OCL's birthday, we bought 12 cupcakes to celebrate for her. (Poor gal still got to come back to work as there were 2 previews on that day)

We wanted to get a cake as per nomal but my colleagues saw that TBP was selling some cupcakes and decided to get those instead. Cupcakes are the rage now for weddings, birthdays and what nots.

Our Property Market (and how it concerns me)

The property market in Singapore is on a boom and we wonder if it will go even higher for the next 1-2 years.

Record breaking prices, rentals, en blocs, complaints to forum...and the list goes on. Almost every week, we read in the newspaper news about the property market.

My area is not spared either. Just opposite our estate is the much talked about HDB project-Pinnacles@Duxton. If I remembered correctly, there are 7 blocks altogether, with a sky garden linking the buildings. Everytime I passed by, will see the progress of the project. Nowadays, the flats are just like lego, attached onto one another very quickly. I can't imagine what it will be like when complete-I am referring to the number of people who will flood our neighbourhood and the additional traffic it will create. (KR, you are one of them! haha)

Next to our estate is a new condo-The Beacon. Heard from my mum it is sold out. Did not go and see the showroom but I reckon it is not cheap as our place's location is central, near to CBD,IR,MRT,loads of buses :).

The boom is indeed good news for property developer,sellers,agents but BAD for us if we want to purchase a property. Esp ME ME ME. Well, we have been looking around for a place to buy. (New HDB flats are out for us, so piss off!) As we (I) are such procrastinators, by the time we got down to seriously looking for one, it is darn peak. We have been to some showrooms but the prices are SKY HIGH. Partly because we are damn choosy about the area,it's either near my place or his or in between, nothing else matters. No Bedok,Pasir Ris,Jurong,Yishun,NO NO NO.

Good thing is we have a very good agent, recommended by Seng. The agent and her partner have been helping us to source around. We have been to see some places but no deals so far.

I was quite resigned to our Plan B and we even got down to planning how to renovate his room and even went to Ikea tampines on Deepavali to look see. Who knows, the agent arranged for us to view some units last Sat. (This place, we actually went to view before with another agent, but I did not like the layout of the room). The first 3 units we saw on Sat were the same layout which I do not like, so strike out immediately.The 4th one we saw, is the kind of layout I like! Plus the square area is big, plus factor, unlike the new apartments we see now,where the area is pretty small. This place is just one street from where he is staying now, quiet surroundings,no unblocked views from the living room, near the PL MRT and just outside the circle line which will be up soon....rental yields is good so we can also treat it as a investment too. Only minus point for me is the address though :P

On Wed, the owner offered us a price which we thought was very reasonable for the situation now. Kiat went down for 2nd vewing and pay deposit. He asked me to pia down after my preview also. So tired, our freaking previews that day ended around 9pm,luckily OCL's bf gave me a lift. So, we saw the place again and put down the deposit and now, we are house owners, I think.

I was telling my friends that the feeling of excitment or happiness have not really sink into me. Maybe because, I did not really expect to get one so fast as I was quite going into Plan B mode already. Well, life is really unexpected yah. In fact, my friends are more excited than me haha.

张惠妹2007演唱会

昨天我跟Merisa, 她的妹妹和Kenneth一同到新加坡室内体育馆看张惠妹演唱会．很久没到这里了，如过没有记错，最后一次是五年前林亿莲的演唱会．
我们约好７３０pm在 North Entrance 见．７３０时，已经有很多人排队入场.
这次的舞台是四面台. Ah Mei在演唱会中讲到她不晓得要站在哪一边因为她每站在某一方向,其他边的歌迷都回叫她面向他们,真头痛!! Me and Mer

大该830pm,灯光熄灭,周围的人都尖叫起来,演唱会开始了!
Ah mei 的 1st set 是快歌.我对她的快歌不是很熟,不过观看舞步已经够眼福.

第二个set是慢歌.( 她的routine 是one set 快歌followed by one set慢歌).

第一首慢歌是记得!!(One of my fav!!) 过后,她还唱了真实,我无所喂,全部都是我喜欢的!!!她的歌声真的佷棒!

我们还买了灯棒 :) 到了尾身,大家都high到最高点,Mar一时不小心,(太high了吧) 打到前排的小姐,hahahaha.她佷不高兴,大家都站起来拍手,跳舞,她就是没有站起来hahaha.

唱完许多成名曲后-听海,原来你什么都不想要,剪爱,牵手 etc, 在encore时,她演揍guitar拌歌. 最后,以一首姐妹完成这场演唱会. 我们都非常喜欢这个演唱会!

这场演唱会在1140结束-ah mei 足足唱了三个小时多, (真花算haha) 还好Kenneth送我回家 :P.

Just and Kelvin's wedding-3rd Nov 07

Last Sat was Justina and Kelvin's wedding dinner. It was held at the Civil Service Club @ Bukit Batok.

There were 3 weddings at the club that day. Must be an auspicious day!

Met up with Venetia, have not seen her for ages! (though we did bump into each other in town sometimes). She is ever so pretty :) Just and her are the 公认美女 from STC :P A pity XH was sick and could not attend the dinner. Mar was one of the jiemei.

Congrats again! :)

Stardust

Was on leave yesterday so went to watch Stardust with PZ yesterday. How nice to be able to catch a movie on a weekday afternoon.

I totally enjoyed the show!!! Robert De Niro and Michelle Pfeiffer are awesome!!

After the movie, we were off to town to meet Mar,Marj and BD for dinner. We went to sushi tei at Paragon and waited almost 40mins for a table,faints. After dinner, it was more waiting at Bakerzin for desserts. Luckily the tapas that we had were nice :)

That's JY, my JC friend :P She is working in the local bank and saw her in their prints ads-for this cash in 5 mins as well as some other career recruitment ads too.

Seems like they also use their own staff for advertisments.

G is for Golf

I can never understand the game of GOLF.

To me, its quite boring. Hit the ball to nowhere. Apparently Mr Kiat thinks otherwise. He is always practicing at the driving range.

That's him at some golf place at Kunming now. Lucky boy, boss bring him there. If my boss brings me to these places, I don't mind practising hard to be the next Grace Park man.
