KL here we come!

We are finally going to KL. Suppose to depart tomorrow but because Carmen would not be in KL tomorrow, we have postphoned it to next week.

It will be a very short trip-go Sat morning, come back on Sunday. Hoping to eat as much as our stomach can take, shop as much as our wallet allow!!!!

Marcel helped to book the package for us,thanks :) -we will be staying at Royale Bintang hotel. heard from Carmen the location is good!!

Can't wait to go and see Carmen soon!

Shortly after that, it will be Taiwan on 8th Sep 07, I am a happy gal :)

Some updates

Some post dated events:

Met up wth GJ and he treated me to Jap food at West Coast. The restaurant is very similar to Akira at Emerald Hill.

The food is good! I want to go back again :)

After dinner, we went to Vivo for dessert. The strawberry/raspberry shake does not taste as good as it looks in the picture.

Steph and YB's wedding-18th Aug 07.

Steph got married last Sat!! The gang turned up in force sans ZY who was still stuck in MEL, to congratulate her on her big day!

The wedding was held at the Oriental Garden Suite. It was a different concept from usual wedding as this was buffet style. She had a dinner reception for relatives the previous Sat and this was purely for friends,colleagues etc, ie young crowd.

We reached there at 7pm to beat the jam as they were having the fireworks competition at 9pm. Kiat gave me a lift and when we were reaching Suntec, there was already a jam and we had to slowly inch our way into Marina area. When we reached the hotel entrance, the carpark was full (bluff one I think) but they let us in as we need not park. Darren was damn suay, he had to circle the place 3 times before they let him in, even though when he showed them the invitation card, they just told him the carpark was full blah blah, no wonder Steph was darn unhappy with the hotel staff :P It was very crowded, everyone was going towards the bay to watch the fireworks.

Hanged around the reception area, they had lychee martinis :). Mar had 2 at the reception and another 3 during the dinner :P You go girl!

We took loads of pictures with Sam and all when they reached shortly after us. Pz was caught in the jam and she reached around 8pm.

The dinner started close to 9pm due to chaotic traffic. They ushered us to see the fireworks at the poolside but we were all so hungry by then. We went for a few mins, got back to start eating and when we heard the bangs, went out to see the fireworks :)

We sat with the sec school friends -saw Sharon,Pearlie and Corrina. We last met at Mer's wedding few years back.

I have known all of them -Steph, mer and pz since sec school and that's a good 17 years gosh. As for Mar, I have known her since Pri 1!

We had a great time catching up and left the dinner around 11pm plus.

Baby Edwyn

National day was spent visiting Mel and her baby with KR. The rest of the group could not make it. This was indeed a long overdue visit and I'm glad we made in no matter what.

KR is good with baby...maybe she is next after sha :P

National Day

Today is our nation's 42nd Birthday-Happy Birthday Singapore!

As per previous years National Day celebration, the housing estates were decorated with the Singapore flag. This year, I thought my estate's deco were quite innovative:







Guess what,early this morning, and I meant 8am plus,I was awoken by loud songs blaring from a sound system-and the songs were national day songs! I though I was hearing things. Went to check and indeed, the RC was organising some national day celebration event. For goodness sake, it is a public holiday and people are entitled to sleep in ok,urggghhhhhhhhhhh. Angry!!!

Why are we not given a holiday tomorrow as well????

Triple S

The weekend has been great so far. Sat was an activity filled day. It started with lunch at Ah Hua Bak Ku Teh. This place is just a stone's throw from my place, at the PSA terminal building.

A lot of people frequet this place, even the HKG Donald Tsang came to eat when he was in Singapore. (He wanted to go to the Rangoon Road Wong Ah Sio one but they were closed and did not want to open just for him haha,made quite a big hoo ha the other time)

Even though this place is so near my house, it was my first time there.

The food is ok, (ex $$) I am not a huge Bah Ku Teh fan :P

After lunch, it was off to Sentosa with the usual suspects. A lot of people going in too.

We were lucky and managed to take up the remaining 2 lots at the carpark and made our way to Silosa beach.

Our afternoon was spent playing beach soccer,volleyball,swimming.....

Left Sentosa around 7plus and went to Maxwell for dinner. It was followed by KTV Singing till 1am.

Afterwhich it was Supper at Simpang Bedok. It was also my first time at Simpang Bedok for supper. The stall that we had, the food sucks and I think we won't be there in the near future-That's my triple S Sat.
