Busy as a bee

This past week has been CRAZY with a capital C.

From Monday onwards, work has been never ending. There seem to be so many emails to clear, so many phonecalls to answers, so many appointments to meet up until we nearly went bonkers. Plus the fact the gst is going to increase to 7%,people are rushing to make payments to beat the gst. The queue at our cashier is so long,scary. But seriously, the company can do better man. In this high tech age, we are still using hand written receipt. So many people queuing and each person's receipt is hand written,my god. Where is the productivity?Opps, that's what we partly stand for.

Talking about the gst hike,how dumb or naive can some people get?

DA: Can I ask if I apply(apply only,not pay) for a programme before the 1st Jul 07, do I get to enjoy the 5% gst.

Me: "Roll eyes" No. Any payment after 1st Jul is subjected to 7% gst. Duh.

OR if it is a company sponsored case.

DA: (Company applied for the programme in late Jun,received letter these few days) I only received the letter today and our FIN needs time to prepare the payment and it will not be in time for 5% gst. It is NOT FAIR to us.

Me: (Nothing is fair lor) Who ask you so late then apply.

And the list continues........

Anyway,I am officially at the end of my 2nd cycle and I am happy to say that this has been a great year for me. I hope the 3rd cycle will be smooth sailing too. (I have decided to stay with my present team for another year instead of changing dept this year, hope more opp comes my way next year this time)

Come next Monday,things should go back to normal,gst or not,you got no choice but to pay 7% already. July also means previews month, sians.

Sweet Surprise

My colleagues bought a cake for me today :) (Advance Bdae celebration) So sweet of them. TCO still bluff me say got meeting,go MMD's place to gather, I still thought how come our meeting got Meredith and AHG one,lol.

Too much dim sum

Took off on Friday so arranged to meet Jinny for dim sum on Friday for her bdae treat. She looks good as usual. The baby is 5 months now.

We ordered too much food again :P.

After a very full meal, we went shopping :)

Today, I was at Lao Beijing for high tea for one of our family friend's granddaughter full month celebration. Ate loads of xiao long bao,guo tie,jiao zi....

Overdosage of dim sum now.

Yes, Mr Shao turned 30 last Wed. In celebration of his birthday,we went to Seafood Paradise to try the crabs at Defu Lane. This place came highly recommended by TCO.

This place is quite near their house,luckily we did not get lost while looking for it :)

I was quite surprise the deco of the restaurant is pretty high class. I was expecting some lok kok place as it is tucked in some industrial estate.

We also had the pork ribs with honey and pepper sauce. No pictures though,too busy eating.

One of the store''s specialty: Crab with dong fen in superior broth. Taste like sharks fin to me.

After a very satisfying dinner, it was back home for cake cutting.

BBQ on Sat

On Sat, we had a BBQ with his friends. We ordered the food from BBQ wholesale online,also another recommendation by TCO. Seems like this TCO also very know where to get all the lobangs.

We collected the food from their shop located at Frankel Ave. At first, we though the food was too little,we were wrong again. Too much.

Lotsa food,good company and of coz,getting drunk as well.

There you have it, welcome to the 30s....

200 pounds beauty

A colleague lend me the 200 pounds beauty dvd and I watched it on Sat.

Despite the 韩风 which is the rage for the past few years, this is only my 3rd korean movie which I have watched so far.




I like the show, though Kiat says it kinda promote plastic surgery....

Sat's happenings

Last Sat, I attended my colleague's wedding lunch at Oriental hotel. It was also my first time at the hotel. We witnessed her solemnisation before heading for the lunch reception.

The lunch was at the garden suite at level 5. Somehow wedding lunches are much more cosier than dinners........

After lunch, it was back for some R&R before we hit town again for another big makan-Kiat's pre birthday dinner treat at Black Angus Steakhouse.

The steak was good but the ribs were a no no.

After the meal, it was off to catch Shrek 3. We wow never to come to town to watch a movie if we are driving. Parking is a nightmare.
